Drew Calabria // Owner & Coach

Drew started his coaching career due to a lack of options within the endurance sports world. Looking to plug this gap Drew brought on his experience with football coaching, learn to swim instructing and a strategic approach as a business development manager to create awareness and an understanding on how to implement strength training into the endurance program. From this Drew’s focus has been linking sports to the weight room world.

Over the past 10 years Drew has not only worked with many endurance athletes but has been heavily involved with Basketball, Surf Life Saving, Swimming, Football codes and Water Polo. Drew considers himself lucky to have worked with so many talented athletes and being part of a team that brings them state and national representation. The experience is brought into the coaching and programming for every level of athlete.

Although the endurance sports is what brought Drew into the coaching world full time it’s speed and agility that keeps him here. Drew has designed Quantum Athletic to support these training methodologies and bring the expertise and facility to those who would otherwise miss out.

Paddy Hickey // Coach

Paddy has been addicted to basketball from a young age and developed a passion for coaching through his constant thirst for knowledge. He has had to quickly learn the ropes as he was lucky enough to coach the Youth Women in Maitland for the 2024 season, where they had a stellar season finishing 3rd. He was also a part of the assistant coaching staff where he was able to learn off the likes of Quantum loyalty, Mark Wawzkowics. 

Although he has a strong understanding of team coaching, Paddy has a love for personal development, especially in younger athletes. He has had the opportunity to coach NBL1 level players with positive results across the board, but also has the ability to break down certain techniques and game scenarios to allow younger athletes to develop a deeper understanding of the What? How? Why?

Paddy is able to adapt to each individual athlete to allow them to understand each drill and action, helping fast track growth. If there is a goal set out, Paddy will do everything he can to help you reach it.

Josh Hamilton // Coach

Josh is a dedicated athlete and coach with a strong foundation in team sports, particularly basketball and volleyball. He is currently completing a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science and furthering his education with a Master's in Exercise Physiology. Josh's athletic journey includes competing with the South Australia Sports Institute for volleyball and representing both basketball and volleyball teams at the Eastern Uigames in NSW.

Now residing in NSW, Josh competes at the Premier Level in State Volleyball with the Illawarra Vikings. As a Level 2 Accredited Volleyball Coach, he brings his expertise and passion for the sport to both his athletes and peers. His commitment to athlete development is further exemplified by his role with Quantum Athletics.

In addition to his sports career, Josh has served in the Australian Defence Force for over 11 years, where he is an Armoured Vehicle Crew Commander in the Australian Army. His blend of sports science knowledge, team sports experience, and military discipline makes him a valuable asset to Quantum Athletics and the broader sports community.

Lewis Cleveland // Coach

With over 10 years in the fitness and performance industry, I’ve worked with everyone from amateur athletes to elite players in the Newcastle Jets and Newcastle Knights systems. I hold a Bachelor's in Exercise Science and a Master's in Performance Sport, so I understand what it takes to push the limits and reach peak performance.

My coaching philosophy is all about building robust and capable athletes who are ready to excel in their sport. Whether it’s boosting strength, enhancing speed, or helping someone recover from an injury, my goal is to make sure each athlete I work with is fully prepared to meet the demands of their sport.
